Arabic and islamic world
Topic
Main learning target is to prepare participants for a first or continuative business activity in Arabic countries. The workshop is intended to be interactive.
Besides a general introduction to Arabic countries, emphasis will be set on intercultural aspects of daily life, etiquette and business interaction in Arabic societies as well as in-depth analyses of two selected Arabic countries for your successful business entry (please make your choice upon registration).
All important information will be provided as hand-outs.
Goals
The introduction will provide participants with vital information for a first overview of the Arab “world”: economic and political situations, benchmarking as well as facts and figures of Middle East and North African (MENA) countries.
In a second part we will analyse specificities of the socio-cultural code, the value system – including religion – as well as verbal and non-verbal communication styles of “the” Arabic culture, important do’s and don’ts and how to deal with in generic situations.
The third part will be focused on successful business interaction with Arabic partners. You will learn how to plan and realize meetings and visits, how to communicate effectively, the business etiquette, how to negotiate, how to choose competent partners and employees, etc.
Finally, we will analyse two pre-selected countries more profoundly in terms of specific market data, the legal framework, market accessibility, economic environment, rankings, data and further information required for a successful market entry.
